What is the Winter Medicine Portal?
The Winter Medicine Portal is a course to help you thrive within the darkest season of the year. We always talk about eating seasonally, why should we not also heal seasonally? Despite the dark (or perhaps because of it) there is magic and medicine within this sparkly season. The Winter Medicine Portal will help you to not only survive winter with plenty of seasonal medicine making lessons and tutorials, but to infuse yourself within the mysticism of it year after year. Whether you love winter or have a complicated relationship with it, this journey brings you into closer communion with winter’s earth magic, winter plant allies and your own body.
We will focus on working with and developing deep relationships with five main winter plant allies (with other seasonal plants making debuts): tulsi, chamomile, rosemary, ginkgo and burdock which will permeate most of our lessons of the season. We will get to know them physically, spiritually and energetically as we work with them in various concoctions. You will learn how to lean on these plants to support body and spirit throughout winter. Even as the snow melts and the sun warms the lands, the relationships and insights you form from working with these plants will follow you throughout the rest of the year as well.
We’ll also journey onto the land to forage winter medicine plants, dive into winter apothecary essentials and travel to the spirit realm to learn the more liminal lessons of winter. Teachings from different healing modalities including medical astrology, biodynamics, ancestral herbalism, and the Wise Woman Tradition create a truly holistic and diverse approach to connecting with the season and nourishing the body.
How it Works
This pre-recorded course is divided into four sections with relevant video lessons, tutorials, recipes and worksheets within each section to give you a wide range of learning mediums. Because these are pre-recorded you can work through them at your own pace. You will receive a downloadable workbook to help you document and track your journey into winter.
